Winter Refresh

Sup Ma's,

As winter is (hopefully) coming to an end, I am excited to launch more products and media as the season begins. It's been so cool seeing so many people support SupMa and even cooler being able to collaborate with friends on some new designs and media. I am currently trying to get a schedule going for the drift events we plan on attending but unfortunately, February was not kind and I had a lot of drawbacks with my daily ultimately setting back what I was hoping to be my season. 

Embracing The Winter Refresh 

Long story short my car ended up in a ditch beginning of February and what I figured was just a cracked bumper and a missing fog light turned into a car stuck in limp mode with a list of 15+ PCM, VSA, and ABS codes. After a couple weeks of troubleshooting with friends and using about four different scanners (Honda wanted $195 to read the PCM codes), the conclusion was to replace the driver-side rear wheel speed sensor and both transmission speed sensors. 

After swapping the sensors we figured the problem was fixed. We were able to clear the codes and drive the car about 30 miles to reset everything. The car drove beautifully until it didn't. After a trip to AutoZone to grab some spark plugs, the car gave out again. We got it towed back to the shop and figured that after sliding into the ditch, the undertray coming off must've messed up something electrical and that our next step was to run a multimeter over everything to try to pinpoint our electrical issue.

After spending multiple weekends trying to fix the car, we ultimately towed the car to a transmission shop before trying to find our possible electrical issue.

Below is my "electrical" issue.

"It ain't got no gas in it"

Seeing that was rough but it was a relief that there wasn't a problem in the harness. I think I cried for a solid three hours and started smoking reds. However, the things I learned from this experience may almost be worth more than what the new trans cost me. 

1. Being surrounded by good people is so important
2. Stick to the plan, not your mood
3. Every failure is a lesson, every mistake is a chance to learn
4. Anything is better than removing a transmission on jack stands

 Back to Being Available 

After getting the car back yesterday I am excited to refocus my attention on SupMa and all of the people who are supporting it. Some PR packages should be going out next week as well as new product launches to help complete these winter builds.
